We leave no scars behind — only your smile
When it comes to lip and philtrum surgery, the greatest concern is scarring. At Dr.Tak Plastic Surgery, we design every step — from the very first incision to your aftercare — so that any trace blends seamlessly into the smile you wear every day.
Scarless (無痕) · Incisions Designed to Disappear
We trace each incision along places the eye never reaches — the mucosa and the natural border of the lip. Planned in 1mm increments so nothing shows from the start, the skin heals so cleanly that the scar becomes almost impossible to find.
Micro-suturing · The Difference of a Single Stitch
A fine suturing technique that minimizes tension on the skin, optimizing every stage of recovery. As one patient told us, “I was amazed at how clean the suturing was” — a testament to the Dr.Tak suturing craft.
Natural results · As if it were always your face
Rather than following trends, we analyze each individual’s bone structure and proportions to design a result that is never overdone. Nothing looks obviously “done” — instead, we bring out the natural charm that shines brightest when you smile.
How do you find the mouth shape that truly suits your face?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, "something around my mouth feels a little off..."? Yet when you try to pinpoint exactly what to change, and by how much, the answer doesn't come easily. The truth is, there's no single right answer for a "beautiful lower face." The philtrum, the chin, the lips — how these three come together in proportion completely changes your overall impression. That's why you have to look at all three together to find the ideal balance that suits you best.
From the photos below, simply pick the proportion that looks most beautiful to your eye. This isn't about getting the "right" answer — it's about getting to know your own taste.

Philtrum-to-chin length ratio
Toward the right, the chin grows longer relative to the philtrum. Which balance feels most harmonious to you?

Philtrum-to-upper-lip ratio
The philtrum length stays the same, but the impression shifts noticeably with the thickness of the upper lip. Which look appeals to you more?

Upper-to-lower lip ratio
Toward the right, the upper lip becomes fuller. Which lip ratio looks most beautiful to you?
Once you've chosen, you already know half of "what kind of mouth shape you love."
Looking at just one measurement can throw off the balance
People often hear that "a philtrum of about 10 to 15 mm looks best" and decide on a philtrum reduction (lip lift) based on that alone. But shortening only the philtrum can make the upper lip look thicker than expected, or upset the balance between the upper and lower lip — leaving the result looking unnatural. A single number is not the answer. Even the very same 1 mm can be just right for one person and too much for another.
That's why Dr.Tak looks at your whole face — not just the numbers.
