Illegal Foreign Body Removal

Safely remove the most challenging substances — unknown injections, paraffin, Vaseline — through staged, customized surgery, with reconstruction included. We honestly explain what's possible and what isn't.

Patients often visit Dr.Tak saying "I don't know exactly what was injected." Their lips have gradually hardened, become painful, and changed shape — making it difficult to look in the mirror. Examination often reveals tissue heavily adhered to the foreign substance, with granulomas formed. This is the most challenging area, but also where patient suffering is greatest.

Ideal Candidates

Patients suffering side effects from past unknown injections, those with severely hardened or deformed lips, those with recurring pain or inflammation. "It doesn't hurt, so it must be fine" is a common misconception — absence of pain doesn't mean absence of problem. Frequent lip cracking alone can already be an abnormal signal due to compromised blood circulation.

Surgical Approach — Staged & Customized

Because the exact composition of the substance is often unknown and the spread is difficult to predict, pre-op precision diagnosis is paramount. For safety, we often perform staged removal — when removing all foreign material at once is risky or impossible, we proceed in multiple sessions. Granuloma areas are removed along with inflammatory tissue, and substance spread to surrounding areas is removed within possible scope.

Removal → Reconstruction → Aftercare in One System

Removal isn't the end. Because some tissue is removed alongside the foreign material, lip shape and volume change. Reconstruction via mucosal advancement may be needed. Until the day you return to natural lips, we are committed to scar management, taping, and laser care — this is Dr.Tak's one-stop system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a foreign substance be removed even if I don't know what was injected?
Yes. In many cases the substance is unknown, so precise diagnosis before surgery is most important; we analyze how far it has spread and whether adhesions or granulomas have formed in order to plan the safest method.
If there is no pain, is it okay to just leave it?
The absence of pain does not mean there is no problem. Even lips that crack frequently because of reduced blood circulation can be a warning sign, so if hardening, deformity, or inflammation keeps recurring, we recommend a consultation.
Is it all removed in a single session?
For safety, it is often done in stages. When removing everything at once would be dangerous or impossible, we proceed over several sessions, and in areas with a granuloma we remove the inflamed tissue along with it.
Can the lips also be restored after removal?
Yes. Because some tissue is removed along with the foreign substance, the shape and volume may change, so when needed we restore the lips with procedures such as mucosal advancement. We proceed with one-stop care that continues through scar management, taping, and laser treatment.
Why is removing this kind of foreign substance especially challenging?
It is because the substance and the extent of its spread are hard to predict, and tissue adhesions or granulomas are often present. That is why precise diagnosis, a staged and customized approach, and specialized experience with lips are important.
